Origin Fertilizer – Soil and Leaf sampling project 2023 findings
The purpose of this study was to emphasise that the performance of livestock is reliant on the quality of the grass they eat and to describe how we can influence the Sugars, Dry Matter and Protiens in grass by better understanding the composition of the soil.

Making space for pollinators
Martin Wain, from Butterfly Conservation came to Wasdale and Ennerdale to discuss the work he as being doing with the Foundation for Common Land. This included talking us through the perfect habitats for butterflies & moths, how to identify them and how having them on your land can be a financial benefit.

Why is Farm Carbon Footprinting important?
The Farm Carbon Toolkit (FCT) has worked with West Lakeland CIC to deliver a project assessing the emissions and sequestration of 10 farms from across the Stockdale and Nether Wasdale Commons along with farmers of the freehold fell of Wasdale Head and Ennerdale areas.
