In order to understand how to manage carbon on your farm it is important to first be able to measure it. Graziers from the Kinniside Common gathered to learn about how carbon is stored or sequestered on the fell.

The team from Farm Carbon Toolkit are developing a version of the Farm Carbon Calculator that is specifically designed for GHG accounting across this landscape, pioneering an approach that empowers the commoners to understand the current carbon balance and what can be done.
Farmers learnt about the carbon cycle and went onto the fell to get their hands dirty, identifying the variety of soil types and processes going on in nature.
